Single cable double flap hydraulic remote control grapple

At present, the grabs used in ports and ships have to be opened and closed with the help of external power such as gear transmission mechanism or electric structure, thus they are costly, operate at a high cost, have a complex structure, are large in size, have a high failure rate, are complicated to operate and are not easy to maintain. In order to overcome the above-mentioned shortcomings of the prior art, a single cable double flap hydraulic remote control grab was designed


The device does not require any external force to open and close the grab.

Figure 1 shows a diagram of a single cable double flap hydraulic remote control grapple, consisting of mechanical device, hydraulic device and control device; mechanical device by the hanger ring l, hanger 2, upper beam 5, upper movable beam 6, upper movable beam 10, upper pulley group 4, lower pulley 9, four support rods 7 and claw body 13 composition. The ring 1 above the hanger 2 hangs directly on the head of the klink, and two telescopic wire ropes 15 are connected to the two ends of the hanger below. two upper pulleys are fixed symmetrically on both sides of the upper beam, the upper movable beam is located in the lower part of the upper beam, and the wire rope compensation frame 8 is fixed in the middle of the bottom of the upper movable beam, and two lower pulleys are connected respectively at the bottom two ends via the central shaft of the pulley. The two upper pulleys and two lower pulleys form a pulley set. One end of the telescopic wire rope is connected to the hanger, the other end passes through the corresponding lower and upper pulleys in turn, and the end is connected to the corresponding end of the wire rope compensation frame. When the bucket is tilted, the wire rope compensation frame is tilted in the opposite direction to ensure that the wire rope is always in a plumb position and does not tilt. The upper part of the claw body is the lower movable crossbeam, and four support rods 7 are installed between the upper crossbeam and the claw body symmetrically through the axis, and the support rods are fitted with synchronous gears 14. the hydraulic device consists of two sets of hydraulic cylinders, oil tank, hydraulic hose and solenoid control valve, the piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder is fixedly connected to the upper movable crossbeam, and the cylinder The piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder is fixed to the upper movable beam and the cylinder body 11 is fixed to the lower movable beam.



The above control device is a wireless remote control device consisting of a remote control, a receiver, a solenoid control valve (shared with the hydraulic device) and a nickel-cadmium battery pack, the receiver, the battery pack and the solenoid control valve are placed in the control box 12. The receiver of the control unit is connected to the solenoid control valve. The remote control system (comprising the remote control and receiver) is used to correctly and wirelessly transmit and execute the command to open the grapple.


    The receiver and the solenoid control valve are placed in the control box to avoid other interference. The remote control is carried by the operator. Depending on the frequency of the switch on and off, the remote control and receiver can normally guarantee continuous operation for more than 24 hours. In the event of a failure of the remote control system, the grab can be forced open by manually controlling the emergency device 20 (i.e. by pulling the exposed wire rope 21 on the control box).

The advantages of this single cable double flap hydraulic remote control grab are

    (1) This grab does not require any external power, but only relies on the lifting force of the lifting equipment itself to achieve the closure of the grab.

    (2) When the grab is tilted, the wire rope compensation frame is tilted in the opposite direction to ensure that the wire rope is always in the plumb position and does not tilt, so it works reliably and safely.

    (3) Due to the strong anti-interference ability of the remote control device, the grab has a good cushioning effect and is smooth and shock-free when closing and opening. 

    (4) This grab uses a rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery pack to provide power, avoiding the disadvantages of a power grab with a cable in tow and making it easy to use.

    (5) The grab is single-rigged and can be used by hooking directly to a single hook of the lifting equipment (no need to modify the existing crane), especially suitable for loading and unloading cargo with the ship.
