Crane wheels (also known as running wheels or overhead crane wheels) are primarily used in various types of lifting and transport equipment, such as bridge cranes, gantry cranes, port machinery and mining machinery. As a key component that is relatively prone to wear and tear, the performance of the wheels directly determines the operational reliability and maintenance frequency of the equipment. The crane wheels and wheel sets we supply are manufactured from high-strength forged materials, utilising precision heat treatment processes and diverse structural designs, to ensure reliable load-bearing capacity and operational performance across a range of working conditions.
Unlike standard cast wheels, we use high-strength forged alloy steels such as 42CrMo, 65Mn, 60# and CL60.The forging process eliminates internal porosity and looseness, allowing the metal to flow evenly throughout the wheel; as a result, its load-bearing capacity, impact toughness and service life are all significantly superior to those of cast steel wheels.
42CrMo is an ultra-high-strength steel with good hardenability; following quenching and tempering, it exhibits a high fatigue limit and resistance to repeated impact, as well as good low-temperature impact toughness;65Mn exhibits high strength following heat treatment and cold drawing, whilst retaining both toughness and ductility; for high-hardness industrial wheels, 42CrMo offers superior workability and service performance compared to 60 steel.
Diameters range from Φ250 mm to Φ900 mm (larger sizes available upon request), and we offer parametric matching solutions for standard wheel set models such as L762, L758, L756 and L754 to meet requirements for different tonnages and track gauges.
Customised to non-standard specifications: We can provide engineering drawings based on tread hardness, wheel diameter, axle bore dimensions and bearing type.
After-sales support: We provide installation guidance and operational maintenance advice, and assist in identifying the root causes of rail gouging.
Delivered as a complete set: the drive wheel assembly includes a gear coupling, whilst the driven wheel assembly includes the shaft and bearings; ready for installation upon delivery
