Product Overview

Engineered specifically for heavy-duty bridge cranes, this high-strength forged steel wheel is the core load-bearing and driving component for crane trolley and gantry travel mechanisms. Manufactured from premium alloy steel through precision hot forging, it delivers superior impact resistance, wear resistance, and contact fatigue performance. It is designed to withstand harsh operating conditions characterized by heavy loads, high-frequency use, and extreme stress, ensuring smooth and safe crane operation.

Key Material and Manufacturing Advantages


  1. Superior Forging Process: Advanced hot forging technology creates a continuous metal flow line and a denser microstructure compared to traditional cast wheels. This completely eliminates casting defects like porosity and shrinkage, significantly enhancing load-bearing capacity and fatigue life.
  1. Exceptional Surface Hardening: The tread and inner flange undergo rigorous heat treatment (such as high-frequency or flame quenching). The hardened layer depth reaches 15mm-20mm+, with a stable surface hardness of HB300-380 (or HRC40-48). This effectively resists track wear and contact fatigue while maintaining excellent core toughness to prevent cracking.
  2. Precision Machining: High-precision CNC lathes and machining centers guarantee extremely tight tolerances for wheel diameter, width, tread cylindricity, and concentricity. This ensures perfect alignment with the rail, reducing running resistance and preventing rail gnawing.
  3. Rigorous Quality Control: Every wheel undergoes 100% Non-Destructive Testing (Ultrasonic Testing - UT), hardness testing, metallographic analysis, and chemical composition spectrometry before dispatch. All indicators strictly comply with international crane design standards, including GB/T 3811 and JB/T 6392.

Range of wheel sizes

Diameters range from Φ250 mm to Φ900 mm (larger sizes available upon request), and we offer parametric matching solutions for standard wheel set models such as L762, L758, L756 and L754 to meet requirements for different tonnages and track gauges.

We ordered a batch of LD crane wheel assemblies for our workshop overhead crane maintenance project.
