Active Wheel Assembly
The active wheel assembly generally includes components such as the drive shaft, bearing housing, bearings, wheel, shaft sleeve, key, and other fittings. The active wheel assembly connects with the reducer, motor, brake, etc., to drive the passive wheel assembly to travel. The traveling mechanism on the trolley typically employs single-flange wheels.
Technical Features
The wheels are cast from 55# steel, subject to rough and finish turning on lathes, followed by medium-frequency hardening of the tread surface, and finally precision assembled with pressed-in bearings. Available specifications for crane wheels include: Φ100, Φ200, Φ250, Φ300, Φ350, Φ400, Φ500, Φ600, Φ700, Φ800, Φ900, Φ1000, Φ1200, and other sizes.
Application Scope
Double-flange wheel assemblies are mainly used for the bridge traveling mechanisms of cranes with a capacity below 50T. After surface hardening, the tread hardness can reach HB330-380. With overall quenching and tempering heat treatment, performance can be further enhanced. Alternatively, wheels made of ZG50SiMn material can increase wheel load capacity by 20%. All bearings used in double-flange wheel assemblies are tapered roller bearings. The ZG50SiMn material option improves performance by 20%, with a price increase of 15%.
Single-flange wheels are commonly used as traveling wheels for the trolleys of overhead and gantry cranes, with a flange height of 20mm to 25mm. Unless otherwise specified, the material for single-flange wheels is generally cast ZG340-640.
Precautions
The horizontal skew value of the crane traveling mechanism wheels is a critical technical parameter. Excessive skew can cause rail gnawing, increase running resistance, generate vibration and noise, accelerate wear on both rails and wheels, and significantly reduce the crane's service life. Therefore, various crane manufacturing technical specifications stipulate permissible limits for wheel horizontal skew values.
